Why Community Groups?

Our mission begins with creating authentic community. Church is more than a once a week service that you attend, but a community that you belong to. It’s people living life together, helping one another, and serving others in Jesus’ name. Ekklesia is a community of communities. While hundreds come together in one place to worship Jesus on Thursday nights, throughout the week hundreds of people meet in homes as small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and serve our city. We call these Community Groups and they are the heartbeat of Ekklesia. This is how we grow smaller and really the only way not to get lost in the crowd.

If you’re looking to get connected in Ekklesia, Community Groups are the way to do it. We know it’s scary to meet new people, but we promise you won’t be a stranger for long. There are no perfect people allowed. Please don’t feel like you need to pretend that you have it all together or that you are something your not. We are about loving God, loving others, and loving others to God.

To join a Community Group contact any of the leaders on the Community Groups page or email either of the Ekklesia Directors, Brian Behrends or Julie Burleson
